Hitachi Scholarship Foundation’s Program 2015
Hitachi
Scholarship Foundation announced their scholarship/fellowship program
for the year 2015 to eligible candidate from Universitas Gadjah Mada.
There are three programs that provide by Hitachi Scholarship Foundation
e.g. Hitachi Scholarship Program, Hitachi Research Fellowship Program
and Komai Fellowship Program.
Hitachi Scholarship Foundation’s Program 2015:
1. Hitachi Scholarship Program
This
program is offered to the university staffs who wish to study at
Japanese Graduate Schools for Doctoral Course in the area of science and
technology and intend to contribute to their university for promotion
of higher education after completion of study in Japan.
Eligibility:
-Master
degree holder who wishes to obtain PhD degree in the field of science
and technology, except veterinary science, at a Japanese graduate
school.
-Below 36 years old as of 1 October, 2015
Documents required for application
One (1) original and one (1) copy of following:
1) Type-written Application Form along with 3cm x 4cm size photograph taken within the past 6 months
2) Certificate of graduation from the last school attended
3) Transcript of academic record of the master’s course and the undergraduate school
4)
Letter of recommendation from the head and/or dean of the faculty to
which the applicants belongs. This letter needs to be endorsed by the
office of the President. Other additional recommendation letters, if
any.
5) Letter of acceptance from the proposed Japanese host scientist
6) Physical examination certificate
2. Hitachi Research Fellowship Program
This
program intends to encourage the university staffs having keen interest
in conducting post-doctoral research in the area of science and
technology to enhance their professional backgrounds and promote
academic collaboration through building mutual human network with
Japanese universities and/or institutions.
Eligibility and qualification of applicants:
Only
the faculty members, who belong to the Eligible Universities invited by
the Foundation and wish to conduct their post-doctoral and cooperative
research in the field of science and technology, except veterinary
science, at Japanese universities or research institutes, will be
accepted as applicants.
They have to satisfy the following requirement:
1) PhD holder
2) Below 46 years old as of October 1, 2015 (born on or after October 2, 1969)
3) Firm position or profession in the university
The documents are required are one (1) original ad one (1) copy of
1) Type written Application Form along with 3cm x 4cm size photograph taken within the past 6 months
2) PhD certificate
3) Letter of recommendation from the head and/or dean of the faculty to which the applicant belongs
4) Letter of acceptance from the host scientist with confirmation on the availability of research facilities and materials
5) List of publications by the applicant
6) Proposed schedule for the research
3. Komai Fellowship Program
This
program started in 1989 under the auspices of late Mr. K. Komai, the
first Chairman of the Hitachi Scholarship Foundation, to encourage
interaction between Southeast Asian countries and Japan. The program,
therefore, intends to encourage the university staffs having keen
interest in conducting study and research to enhance their academic and
professional backgrounds in the area of social and cultural science
related to Japan.
Eligibility and qualification of applicants:
1) The faculty members who belong to the Eligible Universities invited by the Foundation
2) Research proposal have to be related wholly or in substantial part to Japan
3) Firm position or profession in the university
4) Below 46 years old as of October 1, 2015 (born on or after October 2, 1969)
Documents required:
1) Type-written Application Form along with 3cm x 4cm size photograph taken within the past 6 months
2) Letter of recommendation from the head and/or dean of the faculty to which the applicant belongs
3) Letter of acceptance from the host scientist
4) List of publications by the applicant
5) Proposed schedule for the research
Also required documents for who apply these program via Office of International Affairs (Kantor Urusan Internasional) Universitas Gadjah Mada:
1) Curriculum vitae
2) Surat Pencalonan dari Dekan yang ditujukan kepada Direktur Kemitraan dan Alumni UGM
3) Certificate of English Proficiency (Copy of Language Certificate. TOEFL 550, Computer-based TEOFL 213, TOEFL IBT 80, or IELTS 6.0 (taken within 2 years) (TOEFL Prediction will not be accepted)
4) Copy of Passport
All of these documents must be submitted to Office of International Affairs UGM F13 no later than October 17 2014.
